Pass Along Album

My very first public released album, Pass Along. I’m writing this intro almost ten years after the release of this little EP and I am still immensely proud of it. This is the first time I took a chance on putting my songs “out there” and while recording is still a very intimidating process for me… this was the coziest and safest I’ve felt recording in a long time. I think it is a good description of the EP in general, hopeful and cozy. Enjoy!

Song Descriptions

Pass Along: “What if I sing a wrong note or play the wrong chord?… you sing it anyway!” This was the perfect first song for this EP and still continues to be a message I need when I feel like giving up over silly little things like fear and judgment.

New Heartbeat: This song is not about growing a baby…. although I did re-record it for The Gathering album in a piano version with that thought in mind. This song is about when your heart beats in a new way (because of love) and you have no idea what to do with it!

Dandelions: I wrote this song in under 30 minutes. It’s two chords and 5 million feelings. What I love most about this song is that I had Dave Ransom (my very talented husband) add electric guitar and it feels like a duet. A conversation between me and Dave, voice and guitar. The guitar always brings me hope.

Back In Your Arms (Feat. Dave Ransom): If you want to know a little trick… you can write a long song and then make someone sing it with you. That is what this song is, I wrote it when Dave and I met and then I made him sing it with me on this recording, ha! This song is about meeting someone you feel like you have known forever and the relief that brings to be “back in your arms".”

Mankind: This song has a million cool stories. I will do an entire behind the song post on this but for now… “since each life must come to and end we’re left with one question. Did mine help mankind?”
